Cream is a different type of agency devoted as our name suggests to helping your business rise to the top. We have a collective 25 years of experience in providing services to companies, and experts in their specialist field. We are both traditional and innovative. Traditional in that our wealth of experience enables us to understand your needs and in our ethical and honest approach to working with our clients; Innovative in the way we go about this. In recruitment we offer 5 packages, from the traditional percentage based service through fixed fee packages to excellent Temp to Perm terms. We are also able to tailor our arrangements to suit your specific needs.

In the business start up, relocation, expansion fields we have successfully worked with a number of companies to enable them to achieve their goals. We take the hard work out of the operation enabling you to concentrate on your business. Bespoke packages are established with you and your needs in mind. In Marketing and advertising we have links with the traditional forms of advertising, press and radio, but also with more innovative forms of advertising through sponsorship, in Sport, Schools and local government schemes.

We realise how busy you are and how unwelcome a barrage of calls can be; once you have engaged us we will only contact you at agreed times and in the format you prefer, be that by phone, e mail or even text. Our specialist advisers are available to you 24/7 - you will get a voice on the phone out of office hours, not a recorded message.

Services we provide

Our experience has shown us that often the traditional packages offered by recruitment firms do not suit every company, and that many companies who would benefit from the services of a consultancy are put off by the inflexibility of what they have to offer.
We offer a range of packages designed to cover any eventuality, and while we are well placed to advise you about recruitment we are flexible enough to enable to tailor specific services to match your requirements.

We offer 5 specific packages, all at rates far below industry norms:

  • Gold: a full recruitment package. Once engaged by you to fill a position we will take full responsibility for finding you the right candidate and take the stress out of your hands. We will advertise the post, screen CVs vet likely candidates, conduct face to face preliminary interviews with the specific post in mind, and only then forward to you an agreed number of candidates for you to interview (usually 3) This service is offered on the traditional terms of a percentage of gross annual salary, BUT the percentage is significantly lower than the industry norm.

  • Silver: You will be responsible for advertising the vacancy, but with CVs sent to us. We will screen, vet and interview face to face likely candidates, again forwarding the agreed number of candidates. This will be at a fixed fee payable on appointment

  • Bronze: You will advertise the post with CVs sent to us. We will filter these CVs, conduct in depth telephone interviews with the candidates and forward you a “long list” of 6 candidates for you to take the procedure forward. This is on a fixed fee payable on appointment.

CV screening: You will advertise the post with e mails sent to us. We will screen the CVs- as you are aware on occasions 90% of applications are totally unsuitable for the post and it is incredibly time consuming for you to go through them all. We will forward to you an agreed number of suitable CVs for you to progress the process from there. This is at a fixed rate payable on receipt of the CVs. Temp to Perm: we have the facility for you to take candidates on a temporary basis with a view to offering them full time work after a successful trial period. After 6 weeks, significantly lower than the industry norm, you will be able to employ that candidate with no fee involved.

We are aware that unfortunately some appointments do not work out. We have an excellent 6 week rebate scheme to cover you should this unfortunate situation arise:

  • Week 1: full rebate
  • Week 2: 75% rebate
  • Week 3: 50% rebate
  • Week 4: 25% rebate
  • Week 5: 10% rebate
  • Week 6: 5% rebate.
We are happy to put these figures up front unlike some other agencies to avoid future problems.

On top of this we:

  • Will not bombard you with calls, but speak to you at agreed times and in your preferred format, phone, e mail or text.
  • Will be available to you 24/7, a voice will answer your call outside of office hours not a recorded message.
  • Will take a very detailed Job Description at the very start so that everyone is clear about your requirements, negating the need for unnecessary follow up calls to clarify matters.

  • We can conduct an initial feasibility study to ensure that the area you are moving to is the right one for your business, and assist with turnover projections
  • We can conduct market research in a particular area prior to your decision to move

  • We can arrange housing for any relocating staff, as well as provide advice on schools,doctors and amenities

Charges are tailored to the services you ask for, and we work closely with reputable companies to ensure satisfaction.

We set up a new office for Connex Education in Hertfordshire, far from their Manchester Location. For them we sourced offices, engaged staff, set up communication links and conducted an initial marketing campaign.

We set up new offices in Norwich for ANZ UK. This involved staffing, advertising and contacting clients on their behalf. The company is running successfully as a result. We conducted a lengthy feasibility study for Lucy Hall about opening a satellite office. This involved temporary offices, market research, approaches to potential clients and salary expectations. As a result the company decided not to open, but acknowledged that we had saved them a lot of time and money, and a potential failed office

Marketing and advertising

We are aware how important it is to market your business, and can design cost effective strategies to reach large numbers of your target audience. These include traditional advertising methods and more innovative methods:
We can arrange advertising campaigns in the local press and on local radio. We can also assist with designing adverts and logos. There are however other ways to get your name across in the realm of sponsorship at all levels.:
We have excellent contacts with professional sports clubs and can arrange sponsorship packages with them. This ranges from high level campaigns such as Shirt Sponsorship and advertising boards down to match ball or pogramme sponsorship. we can arrange boxes at sporting events either on your own or as part of a larger group where you can entertain your clients( from as few as 5 people) These are at venues such as Lord's, the Oval, Bristol, cardiff in cricket, Norwich City Football club and Saracens and Bath rugby clubs. The package is tailor made to suit your budget and requirements. This can also be arranged for sporting dinners and golf days.

There are also , however, other forms of local sponsorship that, while still effective, come in at a lower rate:
Sponsoring a local sports club along the same lines as above- most of these clubs will have around 300 people associated with them, from members through to parents of colts. Sponsoring equipment or events at schools and universities- a large secondary school will give you access to around 3,000 people with pupils,staff and parents. There is the added bonus of free publicity in the local press/media when handled correctly- get your name in the paper without paying their rates!
Sponsoring Council run schemes, as with the current cutbacks some of these are under threat. This will also bring you free local publicity and enable you to build a close relationship with the regulator.
Sponsoring events in the Arts and Drama.
We can arrange for "star" names to attend events you are running, boosting your image and again receiving free publicity. On a more prosaic level we can organise market research and leafleting campaigns where required.

We directly organise days at Lord’s, The Oval, Bristol and Cheltenham on the cricket front, and Norwich City on the football side. We can also arrange days at Queen’s Club for the pre Wimbledon Tennis. Richard’s continued links with cricket ensure unrivalled access to players and to otherwise prohibited parts of the venues.

Via our sister company Finders Keepers we are able to provide days at a multiplicity of other venues and sports including Cricket, Horse Racing, Rugby, Golf and Football.

All our prices are very competitive and offer that “something extra” due to our links to the players and venues.

Biography

Educated at Haileybury and St Edmund Hall, Oxford University, Richard spent 8 years playing professional cricket with Middlesex and Gloucestershire. On leaving the game due to injury he went on to be Administration Manager at Northcote and Co stockbrokers, and Administration Director of Reynard Management Services. After a series of senior posts in Education he has subsequently been working in recruitment and business start ups, giving him an excellent view from both sides of the fence.
